2. Our collection and storage of personal data and the nature and purpose of their use

Personal data are details of the personal or factual circumstances of a specific or identifiable natural person.

In the following, we will tell you if, and when, data and personal data are collected from you:

a) When you visit our website
When you visit our website forschungsdock.de information is automatically sent to the server of our website by the browser used on your device. This information is temporarily stored in a so-called log file.

Your IP address of the requesting computer is not collected or stored by us in its entirety. A collection/storage takes place only in abridged and thus anonymized form, so that the IP address no longer represents personal data under data protection law.

The following information is collected without your intervention and stored until automated deletion:

  • date and time of access,
  • the name and URL of the retrieved file,
  • website from which access is made (referrer URL),
  • browser and, if applicable, the operating system of your computer as well as the name of your access provider.

The above data will be processed by us for the following purposes:

  • ensuring a smooth connection of the website,
  • ensuring comfortable use of our website,
  • evaluation of system security and stability as well as
  • for other administrative purposes.

The legal basis for our data processing is Art. 6 sec. 1 p. 1 lit. f GDPR. Our legitimate interest results from the purposes of data collection listed above.

In no case will we use the data collected for the purpose of drawing conclusions on your person.

In addition, when visiting our website, we use cookies and analysis services. For more information, please refer to chapters 4 and 5 of our Privacy Policy.

b) When contacting us via e-mail or telephone
When you contact us via e-mail or our telephone number provided for this purpose, the data provided by you will be stored by us in order to answer your enquiries. The data processing for the purpose of contacting us is carried out in accordance with Art. 6 sec. 1 p. 1 lit. a GDPR on the basis of your voluntarily given consent.   • browser and, if applicable, the operating system of your computer as well as the name of your access provider.

4. Use of cookies on our site
We use cookies on our website. These are technologies suitable for user monitoring and statistical collection and analysis. These technologies are used by us to continuously maintain, provide, and improve our own services.

5. Analysis Tools

The tracking measures listed below and used by us are carried out on the basis of Art. 6 sec. 1 lit. f GDPR. With the tracking measures to be used, we want to ensure a needs-based design and the continuous optimization of our website.

On the other hand, we use the tracking measures to statistically record the use of our website and to evaluate it for you for the purpose of optimising our offer. Those interests must be regarded as justified within the meaning of the above-mentioned provision.

a) Use of Google Analytics (anonymization)

We use on our site Google Analytics, a web analytics service of the company Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043 USA, hereinafter "Google".

Google Analytics uses so-called "cookies", text files that are stored on your computer and thus enable an analysis of our use of the website. The information generated by these cookies, such as the time, place and frequency of your visit to the website, including your IP address, is transmitted to Google in the USA and stored there.

b) Use of Google web fonts

Our website uses external fonts, Google fonts. Google Fonts is a service of Google Inc. ("Google"). The integration of these web fonts is done by a server call, usually a google server in the USA. This transmits to the server which of our websites you have visited. The IP address of the browser of the terminal device of the visitor to these websites is also stored by Google.

There are no social media plugins on our website.

7. Affected rights

You have the right to:

  • in accordance with Art. 15 GDPR, request information about your personal data processed by us. In particular, you may request information on the processing purposes, the category of personal data, the categories of recipients to whom your data has been or will be disclosed, the planned retention period, the existence of a right to rectification, deletion, restriction of processing or opposition, the existence of a right of appeal, the origin of their data, if not collected from us, and the existence of automated decision-making, including profiling and, where applicable, meaningful information on its details;
  • require the correction of inaccurate or complete your personal data stored by us without delay in accordance with Art. 16 GDPR;
  • require the deletion of your personal data stored by us in accordance with Art. 17 GDPR, unless processing is necessary for the exercise of the right to freedom of expression and information, to fulfil a legal obligation, for reasons of public interest or for the assertion, exercise or defense of legal claims;
  • in accordance with Art. 18 GDPR, to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data, insofar as the accuracy of the data is disputed by you, the processing is unlawful, but you refuse to delete it and we no longer need the data, but you require it to assert, exercise or defend legal claims or you have objected to the processing in accordance with Art. 21 GDPR;
  • in accordance with Art. 20 GDPR, to receive your personal data that you have provided to us in a structured, common and machine-readable format or to request the transfer to another controller;
  • in accordance with Art. 7 sec. 3 GDPR, revoke your consent to us at any time. As a result, we may no longer continue the processing of data based on this consent for the future and
  • to complain at a regulatory authority in accordance with Art 77 GDPR. As a rule, you can contact the supervisory authority of your usual place of residence or workplace or our registered law office.

8. Right of objection

If your personal data are processed on the basis of legitimate interests in accordance with Art. 6 sec. 1 lit. f GDPR, you have the right to object to the processing of your personal data in accordance with Art. 21 GDPR, insofar as there are reasons for doing so that arise from your particular situation or if the opposition is directed against direct marketing. In the latter case, you have a general right of objection, which we implement without specifying a specific situation.

9. Data security

We use the common SSL (Secure Socket Layer) method within the website visit in conjunction with the highest encryption level supported by your browser. Typically, this is 256-bit encryption. If your browser doesn't support 256-bit encryption, we'll use 128-bit v3 technology instead. You can see whether a single page of our website is transmitted encrypted by the closed display of the key or lock symbol in the lower status bar of your browser.

We also use appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your data against accidental or intentional manipulation, partial or complete loss, destruction or unauthorized access by third parties.

We have implemented security standards to protect your personal information provided to us through industry standards and technologies. We regularly review our system for potential vulnerabilities and attacks, using a system-level access-protected data center to protect the data you store on our servers.

However, as the Internet is not a 100% secure environment, we cannot guarantee or hold us liable for the security of the data you transmit to us via the Internet.

There is no guarantee that information will not be accessed or that information will not be disclosed, modified, or destroyed as a result of breaches of our physical, technical, and organizational security measures.
